Real Myst Windows 7 32 and x64 fix I did this with the original CD but hopefully, some of you may find this useful. There are a lot of dead links and bad information on this but I managed to find a way to make it work with my install of Windows 7. 1.) Install normally 2.) Install 1.1.1 Official Patch (Not needed on Steam Version) 3.) Download and install the Indeo 5.11 codec from here: free-codecs.com 4.) Download the fixed exes from here: RealMystFixedEXEs.zip 5.) Replace RealMYST.exe with one of the fixed exes (I used the first). 6.) Run realMYST Setup. I have an nvidia card so I don't know what you will see with an AMD/ATI card. In any case, you should see two options (or four). Direct3D HAL and Direct3D T&L HAL. You want to use Direct3D HAL. DO NOT USE T&L HAL!!! 7.) Still in the setup window - if you want your videos to run properly and avoid poor performance and other glitches, USE A 16 BIT RESOLUTION! Visually, there is virtually no difference in the quality. NOTE: Interestingly, realMYST has support for widescreen monitors so use 1680x1050 if your monitor supports it. 8.) Right-click on the realMYST desktop icon and set the compatibility mode to "Windows 2000" and check "Run this program as administrator." Note by zunnie: Step 8 is not required. Good luck and have fun! Source: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1415363
